Jayland Walker shooting footage released nby akron police
Akron police released footage of the Jayland Walker's shooting scene, showing a gun on the front seat, contradicting earlier reports that he was unarmed.

Jayland Walker, 25, was killed by Akron police after officers tried to stop him for a traffic violation while he was driving on June 25.

The shocking footage, made public on Sunday, showed multiple officers approaching Walker’s vehicle and opening fire. The family’s attorney described the hail of bullets as sounding as ‘a whole brick of fireworks going off.’

The medical examiner determined Walker had suffered 60 gunshot wounds during the incident, Akron Police Chief Stephen Mylett confirmed Sunday. The exact number of bullets fired remains unknown.

The chief said eight cops were directly involved in the shooting and have all been placed on administrative leave while the incident remains under investigation.
