Middle Tennessee State University Graduation Shooting

Officers are responding to a report of shots fired on the Middle Tennessee State University campus in Murfreesboro.

An alert sent by the school said it happened at the Murphy Center athletic facility. Riverdale High School’s graduation was held at the gym earlier Wednesday night, FOX 17 News has learned.

Middle Tennessee State University officials now confirmed the shooting of two people Wednesday night. As the details continue to unravel TrapPolitics.Com will keep you updated.

Update 12:30pm – 

Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Dan Goodwin said that one person is dead and another is in critical but stable condition. He did not release the identity of the person killed. 

The shooting occurred  shortly before 9 p.m. outside MTSU’s Murphy Center near the tennis courts as Riverdale High School’s graduation ceremony was letting out. 

The shooter is still at large, Goodwin said.
